Cooinda Benalla Elderly Peoples Home Inc in Victoria manages aged care facilities. The home currently has 65 low care hostel beds, of which 20 are dementia specific, and 35 independent living units.
The facility had an existing “keypad type” access control system for their sliding doors. For security reasons, management had to change the lock combination every so often. The keypads need programming every time key codes are changed and this became inconvenient for users, as they had to take note of changes and new keypad codes.
The Axeze KEN is an RFID based system that allows users access to doors just by presenting a tag to a reader. The read range of the reader is between 15cm and 20cm. Access was quick and easy. Management does not need to program new key codes to ensure security and staff no longer had to memorise pin codes.
The Axeze System proved to be the most convenient keyless entry system that the facility had in years.
This product has continued to perform faultlessly for Cooinda and they have advised that staff feel far more secure with this system in place.
Testimonial: Cooinda Benalla Elderly Peoples Home Inc installed the Axeze Keyless Entry System to the electric sliding doors into the dementia wing in 2003. The system replaced a keypad arrangement. The keyless entry system has been in operation for over two months and has proved most reliable and enhanced the security of the wing. Staff are delighted with the easy of activating the door with the tags and the time saved by not having to key in 5 numbers. We are very pleased with the system.
