GRL is a high-end solution for the most demanding network receipting requirements.
GRL clients are larger corporate and government organisations, universities and utilities who receive payments over the counter, typically over geographically widespread networks. These organisations have a need to:
Shinrai International, the developers of the GRL Receipting Systems wanted to provide their clients with advanced features like a convenient proximity sensor, which would be provided with each and every copy of GRL, which could sense cashier security tags. It was decided that without a valid tag, and appropriate permissions for the cashier, no-one could accesses GRL Receipting. The nature of the GRL Receipting system is that Shinrai required tight control over access, preferably using some kind of unique physical key or equivalent as the clients had locations, which are distributed over an entire state or country.
Axeze provided the solution using a KEP reader and by designing a complex algorithm into the product. A challenge and response algorithm was designed, so that snooping the line would not diminish security. The program sends out a challenge string to the reader at various times, disguised, and the Axeze system response with an appropriate unique response. In order to prevent a hacker from gaining information, or attempting to bypass security it was decided that this response would not be a fixed response but would change every so often.
The KEP-HS readers have been installed at some sites for more than 7 years and have performed faultlessly since installation. To date Axeze have not had one single product returned for repair, as faulty product or for any other reason.
